The United States women’s national team will close out their 2025 campaign with double-header friendlies against Italy in Florida.
The first of the two matches will be Nov. 28 at Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, and the second will take place on Dec. 1 at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, both at 7 p.m. The games will be the first between the two teams in 15 years.
The most recent encounter was back in 2011 when the USWNT defeated Italy 2-0 on aggregate in a two-leg playoff to advance to the 2011 World Cup. Overall, the USWNT has a 10W-4L-1D record against Le Azzurre.
Italy is currently ranked 12th in the world, making a run to the semifinal at Euro 2025 this summer. Le Azzurre fell to eventual champion England in the last four.
“As we prepare for World Cup qualifying at the end of 2026, we want to play teams from all parts of the world with different styles and different strengths, so getting to play Italy, one of Europe’s up-and-coming teams, will be a great way to end the year,” said USWNT head coach Emma Hayes.
“This has been a very productive year for our team, learning about each other while embracing our philosophies and standards, so we’re looking forward to two more games against a quality team to continue to grow.”
