Vincent Kompany reveals secret behind Bayern’s strong start this season

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany believes the teams time together during this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup may be a major factor behind their sensational start to the 2025/2026 season.

The Bavarians registered four wins from their first four games of the season, including three Bundesliga victories as well as an impressive 3-1 triumph over Club World Cup champions Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Beyond winning games, Kompany’s Bayern also boast a very impressive attacking and defensive record from these four games, racking up a whopping seventeen-goal tally while conceding just three so far.

The Bundesliga champions return to domestic action this Saturday with a trip to Hoffenheim on the horizon. Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Kompany attributed his side’s strong start to close bonding during the Club World Cup.

“The Club World Cup helped in the integration of new players,” Kompany said. “There is this feeling that players like Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof have been here longer.

“Maybe it has to do with the fact that we were living together for an entire month.

“We don’t really know how the Club World Cup will influence the season, but we stayed together for a month and that is rare for a club. If we can use that, then we will.

“To grow more together we have to win against Hoffenheim. We are playing well, scoring goals and have worked hard to deserve this momentum. We have to keep working in order to maintain this.”

The Bavarians will be looking to strengthen their grip on top spot in the Bundesliga with a fifth straight win of the season. With the form they’ve shown so far, many will be expecting a straightforward game for the German champions.
