Spurs rocked by two fresh injury setbacks ahead of Bodo/Glimt clash

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury woes have deepened ahead of their Champions League trip to Norway. Two key forwards, Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani, both missed training on Monday.

Solanke has not featured since August’s victory over Manchester City. He looked close to a return after rejoining training last week, but his absence from the main group at Hotspur Way raised fresh concerns.

Thomas Frank admitted Solanke’s situation has been far from straightforward.

“I think sometimes, let’s say you have got a calf sprain or hamstring or even ACL, it is very simple, very easy to deal with,” the Spurs gaffer said of the ankle issue.

“Sometimes it is just a little bit more tricky. So this is a little bit more tricky without being a problem. I expect Dom back as soon as possible.”

Frustration over Solanke’s delay was compounded by the news that Kolo Muani also sat out. The French striker, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, has a minor dead leg that kept him out of Monday’s session. He has only managed 13 minutes of action so far, coming off the bench in the group stage win against Villarreal.

With both sidelined, Richarlison is expected to continue leading the attack. Spurs are already missing Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison with long-term injuries, leaving their attacking options stretched.

There was at least some good news for Frank. Veteran defender Ben Davies returned to full training, while Kota Takai shook off a plantar fascia issue. Midfielder Yves Bissouma also joined the session after recovering from a recent knee problem.

Tottenham now face a tricky Champions League night in Norway with their attacking depth once again under the spotlight.
