Manchester City winger Savinho has promised to help Pep Guardiola’s side achieve more success after penning a contract extension at the Etihad on Friday.
Savinho recently committed his long-term future to Manchester City, signing a new contract that runs until 2031, with the option of an additional year.
Speaking at the announcement of the extension, the Brazilian winger expressed his gratitude to Pep Guardiola for the trust shown in him, describing the extension as a reward for the faith placed in his development and promised to bring more success to the club.
“I am incredibly proud to be able to sign this new contract with City,” Savinho said. “It’s a very special feeling to know that Pep and the club have placed such faith in me.
“I feel I have so much improving to do. I am still young and very hungry to keep learning. But I know that working with Pep and his staff will help me to keep developing as a player.
“From the moment I first arrived, I have loved my time at City.
“I want to thank everyone here for their help so far, and I promise that I will give everything to try and help this amazing club achieve more success.”
Savinho only arrived from City Football Group side Troyes last year and was initially tied down until 2029.
However, his impressive rise convinced City to secure his services for even longer, fending off reported interest from Tottenham in the last transfer window.
In his debut season, Savinho featured 48 times, contributing three goals and 13 assists as he established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young wide players.
