Rangers have confirmed that Russell Martin has left his role as head coach following a disappointing run of results.
The decision comes despite the club acknowledging the effort and commitment he and his staff showed during their tenure.
“Rangers Football Club confirms that it has parted company with Head Coach, Russell Martin,” the club said in an official statement.
The board highlighted that while transition periods always take time, results had not lived up to expectations.
Martin’s sack came after the team’s 1-1 draw against Falkirk on the road which totalled one win in their seven Scottish Premiership fixtures. The Teddy Bears now sit eighth on the log.
Assistant head coach Matt Gill and first-team coach Mike Williamson will also depart as part of the changes.
Rangers added: “Russell and his staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club. We thank them for their efforts and wish them well for the future.”
The club has yet to name an interim replacement, but promised supporters that “further updates will follow in due course.”
His departure marks the latest managerial change at Ibrox as the club looks to steady the ship and push forward.
