Harry Kane has been flagged with a minor ankle concern after playing for Bayern Munich.
The England captain has a history of ankle injuries, which has sparked fresh concern, but the latest setback is not considered serious. Even so, Kane is now a doubt for England’s upcoming friendly against Wales.
“Harry Kane has a slight ankle concern after playing for Bayern Munich. He has a history of ankle injuries but it’s nothing serious,” Sky Sports reported.
The playmaker having scored four goals in five outings for the Three Lions in this year’s World Cup qualifiers remains a doubt for their upcoming fixtures.
“He’s a major doubt to face Wales which is not a qualifier so you would assume that Thomas Tuchel will rest Kane ahead of the Latvia game on Tuesday.”
The 31-year-old striker has been central to both Bayern’s attack and England’s frontline, making his fitness a priority. With back-to-back fixtures looming, a pragmatic approach looks likely.
For England fans, the hope will be that Kane’s recovery is swift and he is fully fit to feature against Latvia in a competitive setting.
