Football Regulator Kogan questions delay in Man City’s charges verdict

New football regulator David Kogan has admitted that many across the football world are shocked by how long it has taken to reach a verdict in Manchester City’s 115 alleged financial breaches case.

City, who have denied all allegations, remain under investigation alongside the Premier League, as both sides await the outcome of a case that has now stretched beyond a year. The charges, which span from 2009 to 2018, relate to financial irregularities following the Abu Dhabi United Group takeover.

The saga, which began in September 2024, has drawn widespread attention and frustration due to its prolonged nature. With no clear end in sight, many are questioning the efficiency of the process.

“Lots of people within the Premier League, among clubs, have been surprised by how long it’s taken,” Kogan said to Sky News correspondent.

The comments add further pressure on the league as football stakeholders continue to await clarity on one of the sport’s most high-profile cases.

For now, the Cityzens remain focused on defending their position, while the football world watches closely for what could be a landmark verdict in Premier League history.
