Jack Wilshere returns home as Luton Town new manager

Luton Town have confirmed the appointment of Jack Wilshere as their new manager, marking a homecoming for the former Arsenal and England midfielder.

The 33-year-old takes over the reins at Kenilworth Road, returning to the club where his football journey began as a boy in the Centre of Excellence before moving to Arsenal at age nine.

“We are excited to announce the return of Jack Wilshere to Luton Town Football Club as our new first-team manager,” the club said in a statement.

“The 33-year-old is back at the club where it all started for him in our Centre of Excellence, before joining Arsenal at the age of nine and embarking on an elite playing career that saw him win 34 England caps.”

Joining Wilshere in the dugout will be Chris Powell, who has been named his assistant. The experienced coach will provide valuable support as the pair look to guide the Hatters through their Sky Bet League One campaign.

Wilshere, who has been honing his coaching skills in Arsenal’s academy and briefly managed Norwich City on an interim basis last season, expressed his eagerness to get started in familiar surroundings.

The former England international will take charge of Luton for the first time this Saturday when they face Mansfield Town at Kenilworth Road, a symbolic first step in what fans hope will be another exciting chapter for both Wilshere and the club.His appointment has been met with excitement among supporters who remember his early connection to Luton and are optimistic about his return to the club where it all began.
