Liverpool have been handed a boost after Ryan Gravenberch was substituted at half-time during the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Finland on Sunday.
According to Sky Sports News, there are no major concerns regarding the midfielder’s fitness. His withdrawal was purely precautionary, with the Dutch team already comfortably ahead at 3-0.
Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman confirmed after the match that Gravenberch had felt slight discomfort but insisted the decision to take him off was made to avoid unnecessary risk.
“[Gravenberch] indicated he had some minor hamstring problems. Of course, we didn’t take any risks with that,” Koeman said.
The Netherlands do not return to action until November, giving the 22-year-old ample recovery time. Gravenberch is expected back at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre early this week, where he will be checked by the club’s medical staff.
He is not expected to miss any matches and should be fit for the Reds’ Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The update will come as welcome news to Arne Slot, who will be keen to have the midfielder available as the Anfield heavyweights continue their strong start to the season.
