Brentford have confirmed that Antoni Milambo will miss the remainder of the 2025/26 season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during Netherlands U21 duty.
The 20-year-old, who only featured in limited minutes for the Bees, will undergo surgery and enter a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Since his move from Feyenoord this summer, Milambo appeared in three matches for Brentford, including starts in two League Cup fixtures.
In the Premier League, he played just 45 minutes in the season opener at Nottingham Forest.
The Dutch midfielder was signed for an initial fee of £15.4 million, potentially rising to nearly £19 million with add-ons. His absence is a major blow to Brentford’s midfield options and their plans for the campaign.
While the injury halts Milambo’s momentum at the club, the hope is that with surgery and proper rehab, he can return stronger in the future.
