Liam Delap is ready to make his long-awaited return for Chelsea in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Wolves.
The young striker, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since August, is now back in full training and available for selection.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed the boost during his pre-match press conference.
“Liam is available for the game,” Maresca said. “He completed the whole session with us yesterday with no problems and he is available for tomorrow.”
However, Maresca urged caution regarding Delap’s workload after his two-month layoff.
“We have to be careful with Liam. Ninety minutes? No. He’s been out for two months so he needs to be gradually brought back up to 100 per cent.”
Delap’s return adds depth to Maresca’s attacking options as Chelsea aim to continue their strong Carabao Cup run with another decisive performance at Molineux.
