Man City’s trio make England’s final World Cup build-up list

England boss Thomas Tuchel has named Phil Foden, John Stones and young talent Nico O’Reilly in the squad for the November international break.

The trio join the Three Lions’ final build-up ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with matches against Serbia at Wembley and away to Albania.

Foden, 25, returns to the national side after missing the September camp. The Manchester City star opened the scoring in their 4-1 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund and added another strike after the 57th minute.

His performance was a clear signal to Tuchel. Stones remains a fixture in defence and brings experience to the back line. O’Reilly, meanwhile, earns another nod after breaking into the senior squad and retains his inclusion from September.

England are already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, winning all six qualifiers so far without conceding and racking up 18 points. With the finals secured, Tuchel now uses this window to refine his squad and assess younger options like O’Reilly.

As the Three Lions prepare for the Wembley showdown, this blend of proven stars and emerging talent indicates the direction the national side is heading under Tuchel.
