Real Madrid winger Vinícius Junior has hailed Carlo Ancelotti’s growing influence on the Brazil national team, emphasizing that the squad now has a clear playing identity under the Italian.
Ancelotti took charge of the Selecao in May after leaving Real Madrid, bringing with him the calm authority and tactical clarity that shaped Vinícius’ rise over their four years together in Spain.
Since his appointment, the Italian has overseen six matches, guiding Brazil to World Cup qualification with a mixed set of results but noticeable progress in their overall structure.
After sealing their place at next year’s tournament, Brazil produced a dominant 5–0 win over South Korea in a friendly, only to stumble in a surprising 3–2 loss to Japan days later.
Their preparations continue with upcoming fixtures against Senegal and Tunisia, tests Vinícius believes will further showcase how Ancelotti’s ideas are taking hold.
According to the 25-year-old, each match is another step in shaping a team capable of peaking on the biggest stage, and he remains confident that Brazil’s evolution under Ancelotti is moving in the right direction.
“With Ancelotti, we’re evolving and building a clear playing identity,” Vinicius told the CBF’s official media channels.
“Finding that balance before the World Cup will be crucial. We all have to get into the World Cup mindset and understand that our opportunity has arrived.
“He’s done the same thing everywhere he’s gone — instilling confidence and getting the best out of every player in their ideal position,” Vinicius added.
“He always says his dream is to make the Brazilian people happy, to bring back the joyful football that defines us, and to win the World Cup.
“He gives us calm and confidence, reminding us that we already have the passion and intensity to wear this shirt — and that’s the hardest part. We just need to win so that his work gets the recognition it deserves.”
