Noni Madueke says he has enjoyed every moment of his first six months at Arsenal, revealing that the environment at the Emirates has surpassed anything he experienced at any of his previous clubs.
The winger made the switch across London in the summer, joining from Chelsea in a deal worth around £52 million, just two years after the Blues brought him in from PSV Eidhoven.
Thrown straight into action following Bukayo Saka’s early-season injury, Madueke quickly established himself as one of Arsenal’s standout performers during the opening weeks of the campaign. A knee injury halted his momentum, but even that setback hasn’t dampened his enthusiasm for his new surroundings.
Reflecting on his journey so far, the 23-year-old praised the “culture” within the Arsenal camp, describing it as the best he has encountered in his career and a clear step above what he left behind at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s not just a team full of great and talented players, it’s a team full of good people,” Madueke told club media. “And I think the culture around here is probably the best I’ve seen.
Madueke’s current status as a fan favourite at the Emirates is remarkable considering the backlash that greeted his arrival, with over 5,000 Arsenal supporters signing a “#NOTOMADUEKE” petition urging the club to sign a different winger.
That hostility has since evaporated, and Madueke now says he feels more connected to the Arsenal fanbase than any he has played for.
“In terms of the supporters, it was a bit dicey at the start, on social media and stuff before I came to the club,” he continued. “But when I’ve been in the stadium, I haven’t felt that close to fans, to be honest.
“Obviously I play on the side of the pitch so I can hear them throughout the game, pushing me on whenever I get the ball, I hear them. So, God willing, that continues, because it gives me a big, big, big boost.
“I always love playing at the Emirates, I’m always looking forward to the next game where I’m back at the Emirates.”
