Albania head coach Sylvinho has described England’s form as ‘amazing’ as both countries clash in their final group qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
The Three Lions have already booked their spot at next year’s tournament, but are eyeing a perfect finish to their campaign with a win over their hosts.
Thomas Tuchel side have won all their seven matches without conceding and could set another record with victory at the Arena Kombetare.
Albania, on the other hand, sealed second spot and a playoff position with their win over Andorra in their last outing.
England won the reverse fixture 2-0 in Tuchel’s first game in charge, but Sylvinho expects a more difficult task when both sides clash on Sunday night.
“Unfortunately, I have to say they are stronger than six months ago”, the Albania boss said.
“The numbers are amazing. It’s disgusting! What can I say. But we are happy, we are going to face one of the best tomorrow and we are going to try to do our job.
“My players have confidence and love what they are doing on the pitch. We are going to prepare something, try to score and have a great match”, he continued.
England are top of Group K, having won all seven games while scoring 20 times in the process.
The Three Lions have also won all seven previous meetings with the home side, including a 2-0 win in the first leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
“I’ve heard in my life in 90 minutes of football, anything can happen. They are in a completely different level [to us]. Don’t make any confusion about us”, Sylvinho added.
“We are very happy with our team, so we are for the first time going to play the playoffs in March, but it is completely different.
“Tomorrow is a great game, it’s a difficult game as well. Great coach, love him, the way that he plays and also he has some of the best players in the world”, he concluded.
