Jurrien Timber is embracing Arsenal’s fierce togetherness as the club prepares for a massive Champions League test against Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium.
The Dutch defender has been a key figure in a dominant back line that has helped Arsenal win their first four league phase games without conceding a goal.
“I’m just trying to get better every time, every game, every day,” he said. “But I think it’s also the environment, the culture we have here. I think everyone is trying to push each other, we have a big squad so also we have to push each other.
“But we’re also trying to win something, so I think I’m in the right environment to better myself and become the best version of myself.”
He continued: “I think the whole team is together. On and off the pitch, we are great together. I think the energy, the togetherness and the unity we need to use and bring to the pitch every game.”
Arsenal now turn their focus to Bayern Munich, who have won all but one match across the 2025/26 season and sit above the Gunners only on goals scored.
It’s a heavyweight meeting of first versus second, but Timber insists that beating Bayern is always huge no matter the context.
“Even if it wasn’t first or second place, I think Bayern Munich is a big club, they have a great team, great players, great culture,” Timber revealed. “It’s going to be a tough game either way, and I think it’s two teams that want to press, want to play, so for the fans, it’s going to be an exciting game as well.
“I think just winning against Bayern Munich is a big thing, whether they concede or not. I think they’re a good team, they’re a tough opponent, so it’s going to be a good game.”
