Salah’s outburst after benchings sparks Collymore’s brutal warning

Mohamed Salah sent shockwaves through Liverpool after unleashing a furious rant over his continued relegation to the bench.

The forward’s frustration boiled over after a chaotic 3-3 draw at Leeds, where he watched Ao Tanaka score a dramatic 96th-minute equaliser from the sidelines.

It was his second benching in three league matches and the breaking point for the club’s long-time talisman.

Salah accused the club and manager of turning against him.

“I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why,” he said.

“It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling.”

His comments stunned many inside Anfield as he insisted someone “wanted me to get all of the blame” and suggested Arne Slot no longer speaks to him.

The explosive outburst triggered a fierce response from former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore.

He made it clear the club comes before any player, even one of Salah’s stature.

“Mo maybe has almost tricked himself into elevating himself to the untouchable status of Messi or Ronaldo,” he wrote.

“Mo isn’t them, and Liverpool… isn’t that club either.”

Collymore stressed that Slot, who won the title in his first season, had earned the right to make tough decisions.

He acknowledged Salah’s greatness but insisted the winger must respect the structure that defines Liverpool.

He also warned that modern football’s obsession with personality cannot override performance.

Liverpool sit ninth, and the pressure is rising.

With the team chasing stability and results, the last thing Slot needs is turmoil from inside the dressing room.

But Salah’s unrest now looms over a squad already struggling to find rhythm.

The Reds need every major player locked in if they hope to salvage the season.

Instead, they’re facing a rift with their biggest star: one now being told, loudly and publicly, that he is no Lionel Messi.
