Yamal breaks another UCL record as Barca prodigy surpasses Mbappe

Lamine Yamal has rewritten Champions League history once again.

The Barca winger delivered an assist against Eintracht Frankfurt, pushing his total goal contributions in the competition to 14.

He now leads all players aged 18 or younger since the tournament began in 1992.

This milestone moves him ahead of Kylian Mbappe, who held the previous record with 13.

Yamal’s impact continues to grow season by season, even though he only recently turned 18.

He has scored seven goals in the Champions League so far.

Those goals came against Monaco, Atalanta, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan in the 2024/25 campaign, and against Olympiacos and Club Brugge this season.

His creativity has also produced seven assists delivered across three different seasons.

He set up goals against Royal Antwerp and PSG in 2023/24.

He added four more assists last season against Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica twice.

This season, he has provided assists against Club Brugge and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Yamal now sits clear at the top of the all-time list for under-18 UCL contributors.

He leads Mbappe (13), Raul (7), Bellingham (6), Rodrygo (6), Walcott (6), Bojan (5), Geovany Quenda (5), Zaire-Emery (5), and several others on four.

It is another defining achievement for a homegrown star who continues to play well beyond his age.

His rise shows no sign of slowing, and he remains a cornerstone of Barcelona’s present and future.
