Mount hails Man United’s attacking display after dominant win over Wolves

Manchester United’s Mason Mount praised his team’s attacking performance as they cruised to a convincing 4-1 victory over Wolves in the English Premier League on Monday night.

The Red Devils netted four times in a single game for only the second time this season, as the attacking players clicked into gear in a dominant win at the Molineux.

Ruben Amorim’s side had dropped points in their previous outing against West Ham United, but produced the perfect response ahead of their next clash against Bournemouth.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the first half, beating Sam Johnstone despite slipping before hitting the ball, while Jean-Ricner Bellegrade equalized for the home side on the stroke of halftime.

“I thought some of the combinations going forward were crisp, were sharp and that’s what we can do”, Mount said after the match

“We know we can do that. It’s about us creating as many chances as we can as forward players and trying to get on the scoresheet. I thought going forward we were solid, and as a defence it’s about defending as a team and not letting them have any chances to get back into the game.”

Bryan Mbeumo put Manchester United back in front early in the second half after a quick break with his first goal in a month, after receiving a pass from Diogo Dalot.

Mount then got on the scoresheet in the 62nd minute, finishing past Sam Johnstone after a beautiful ball from the impressive Fernandes.

The Portuguese scored a fourth in the final 10 minutes from the penalty spot, after a spot-kick was awarded for a handball inside the Wolves box.

It sealed a second win from their last three games for the Red Devils, who moved back into sixth position with 25 points.
