Roberto Carlos denies heart attack rumour and reveals his planned recovery procedure

Roberto Carlos has calmed fears. The Brazilian legend confirmed he is fine.

And he says he is already on the road to full recovery.

The Real Madrid great shared an update from a hospital bed on Instagram.

He smiled. He looked relaxed. And he wanted the truth out there.

“I would like to clarify recent information that has been circling,” he wrote.

“I recently underwent a preventative medical procedure, planned in advance with my medical team. The procedure was successful, and I am well. I did not suffer a heart attack.

“I am recovering well, and looking forward to returning to full fitness and resuming my professional and personal commitments soon.

“I sincerely thank everyone for the messages of support, care, and concern. I would like to reassure everyone that there is no cause for concern.

“My heartfelt thanks go to the entire medical team who took care of me.”

The 52-year-old left-back remains one of the game’s greatest.

He lifted four La Liga titles with Real Madrid. He also won three Champions League trophies.

He made 527 appearances for Los Blancos.

And then he conquered the world with Brazil in 2002.

He thrilled fans with power, pace and trademark free-kicks.

He played for Palmeiras. He joined Inter Milan. He starred at Fenerbahce. He later turned out for Corinthians.

Wherever he went, he entertained. Now the focus is on health. Now the priority is recovery.

And, just like in his playing days, Roberto Carlos stays calm under pressure.

With the rumours cleared, fans can breathe easier. The legend is fine.
