Fulham head coach Marco Silva has moved swiftly to shut down January transfer speculation surrounding Harry Wilson, insisting there is “zero chance” the Wales international will be allowed to leave Craven Cottage this month.
Wilson’s stock has risen sharply in recent weeks and, crucially, his performances have done the talking on the pitch.
The 28-year-old has found the net in each of his last three outings, striking against Liverpool, Chelsea, and most recently in Fulham’s FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough.
As a result, momentum has built around his future, especially with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, Silva was quick to tackle the rumours head-on.
“To clarify, because I said that we have to enjoy him for one month, two months, or maybe another one or two years if we can renew with him, but (there is) completely zero chance of him leaving (in January),” Silva told a press conference.
As the transfer window gathers pace, Silva acknowledged the growing outside noise but doubled down on his stance, stressing that Fulham have no intention of weakening their squad mid-season.
“Not because we have an offer – I know there is starting to be some noise about the possibility of him leaving in this window – no chance, zero chance.”
From a sporting perspective, Silva’s position is hardly surprising. Wilson’s confidence is visibly high, his end product is improving, and his influence in big games has been decisive.
The Fulham boss believes continuity and belief from within the squad are key to sustaining that level.
“Really he is doing well. Let’s hope he can continue this way. Of course, the confidence from us, his team-mates, and his good performance will always be a great help for him to maintain this level.”
As Fulham push on across domestic competitions, Wilson remains firmly part of the game plan.
For now, the message from the dugout is emphatic: speculation can circulate, but Fulham are playing on with one of their most in-form attackers exactly where they want him.
