Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has scooped the club’s Goal of the Month award for January after producing a moment of pure brilliance at Anfield.
The Hungarian international topped the fan vote thanks to his sensational long-range strike in the Emirates FA Cup victory over Barnsley.
From around 25 yards out, Szoboszlai unleashed a fierce effort that arrowed into the top corner, igniting the Reds’ dominant 4-1 win and setting the tempo for the afternoon.
As the contest for January’s standout finish gathered pace, his thunderous drive edged out strong competition.
Hugo Ekitike finished runner-up with his impressive second goal against Newcastle United, while Szoboszlai himself featured twice more in the final standings thanks to expertly taken free-kicks against Marseille and AFC Bournemouth.
Completing the top five was another moment of set-piece quality, with Mohamed Salah earning recognition for his goal against Qarabag in the Champions League.
With technique, power and precision all rolled into one unforgettable strike, Szoboszlai’s Anfield screamer stood head and shoulders above the rest — a fitting winner in a month packed with quality finishes.
