Nuno Espirito Santo has praised West Ham United’s performance after their dominant 4-0 win over Wolves and remains confident in their bid to survive relegation this season.
The Hammers continued their fight to avoid the drop this season with a comfortable 4-0 victory over bottom-placed Wolves in Friday’s encounter.
The result moves them temporary out of the drop zone ahead of other rounds of matches in the gameweek, leaving Nuno defiant on their chances of staying in the top-flight.
“We are happy, extremely happy all of us. An evening like this is special, the stadium was amazing, bouncing. First half was tough, we couldn’t find spaces. But after the break, we improved”, Nuno said.
“The first goal changes everything, the dynamic of the half-time talk. The players kept their calm and understood, they did amazing in the second half.”
West Ham climbed out of the bottom three for the first time since December after thrashing Wolves to boost their survival hopes.
Konstantinos Mavropanos opened the scoring in the first half with a header, before the Hammers stepped on the gas in the second half in which they scored three times.
Taty Castellanos doubled the advantage in the 66th minute and grabbed his second and his side’s third just a few seconds later.
Mavropanos also doubled his tally with West Ham’s fourth of the game to seal the comfortable win.
“Much, much improved – not just on the ball but off the ball. We stopped Wolves breaking in the middle. It was positive”, Nuno continued.
“We spoke after the [other Wolves] game. We said we cannot give up. We won’t give up the fight.”
West Ham United road to survival continue in their next Premier League outing against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on April 20.
