Barcelona’s Ferran Torres opens up on El Clasico pressure

Ferran Torres has revealed why playing in El Clasico brings excitement rather than pressure, as the Barcelona forward reflected on some of his biggest moments against Real Madrid.

With another blockbuster showdown on the horizon, Torres admitted that clashes of this magnitude are exactly why players dream of reaching the top level.

Instead of nerves, the Spanish attacker believes these occasions bring out motivation and enjoyment.

“This kind of match is the one every player dreams of playing. It’s actually the opposite. That’s when there’s the least pressure,” Torres said.

“It’s fun. That’s when you most want to play, when you’re most motivated.”

Meanwhile, Torres has already built an impressive record against Los Blancos, scoring three goals and delivering four assists across 14 appearances for Barcelona in the famous rivalry.

One of his standout moments came during last season’s Copa del Rey final, when he produced a clinical finish after beating both Antonio Rudiger and Thibaut Courtois in a decisive attacking move.

Looking back on that memorable strike, Torres explained how instinct completely takes over during key moments on the pitch.

“When the game ended, I barely even remembered the play because you don’t have time to process it.

“During the play, it was all about seeing the opening, and you don’t think about who’s in front of you or behind you – you just focus on scoring.

“When you see the ball go in… honestly, it’s an incredible feeling,” he concluded.

As Barcelona continue their push for silverware, Torres appears ready once again to embrace the spotlight and deliver on football’s biggest stage.
