Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino praised his side’s quality and mentality after they secured an impressive 3-2 victory over AC Milan in a thrilling Serie A clash at the Meazza.
In a match packed with intensity, attacking football and momentum swings, Atalanta emerged victorious thanks to goals from Ederson, Davide Zappacosta and Giacomo Raspadori.
The visitors started brightly and showed attacking intent from the opening whistle, with Ederson giving Atalanta an early breakthrough after capitalising on a loose ball inside the area.
Milan responded with urgency and briefly fought their way back into the contest, but Atalanta continued to look dangerous every time they moved forward.
Zappacosta restored the visitors’ advantage with a composed finish following a flowing counterattack before Raspadori added what proved to be the decisive goal in the second half.
Despite late pressure from Milan, Atalanta held firm to leave San Siro with a massive three points in their push for a strong finish to the season.
Speaking after the match, Palladino expressed satisfaction with both the performance and his team’s bravery against one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
“We played well, with quality,” Palladino said.
“The team showed personality and courage throughout the match. Coming here and playing this kind of football against Milan is not easy.”
The Atalanta boss also praised the character his players displayed during key moments of the game, particularly after Milan attempted to shift momentum back in their favour.
“We stayed calm during difficult moments,” he added. “The players trusted the way we wanted to play and they deserved this result.”
Atalanta’s attacking display once again highlighted the fluid style Palladino has introduced since taking charge, with quick transitions and aggressive movement causing constant problems for Milan’s defence.
Raspadori, in particular, delivered another standout performance, while Ederson dominated midfield battles and Zappacosta provided energy and composure down the flank.
For Milan, the defeat represents another frustrating setback in an inconsistent campaign, with defensive issues once again exposed against high-tempo opposition.
Atalanta, meanwhile, continue to strengthen their reputation as one of the most entertaining and dangerous sides in Serie A.
And on a dramatic night at the Meazza, Palladino’s men showed exactly why they remain one of the toughest teams to face in Italian football.
