Rangers have officially confirmed the departure of head coach Danny Rohl after the German manager moved on to take charge of Austrian giants RB Salzburg.
The Ibrox club announced that Rohl will leave his role alongside first-team performance manager Sascha Lense and first-team analyst Tristan Steiner, bringing an end to their time with the Scottish side.
Rohl’s exit marks a new chapter in his coaching career as he takes up a fresh challenge in Austria, while Rangers begin the process of moving forward without the coaching team that guided the club during his spell in charge.
The club thanked Rohl and his staff for their commitment and efforts, recognizing the work carried out behind the scenes during their time at Ibrox.
Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh paid tribute to the departing coach, highlighting the dedication shown by Rohl and his backroom team.
“I’d like to thank Danny for his service and commitment to Rangers,” the chairman said.
“He and his staff put in a significant amount of hard work during his time in charge, which we are greatly appreciative of.
“We wish them the best of luck moving forward.”
Rohl arrived at Rangers with a reputation for tactical knowledge and modern coaching methods, having built experience across different levels of European football before taking on the challenge at Ibrox.
His departure now leaves Rangers facing an important period as the club looks to maintain stability and continue its ambitions domestically and in European competition.
RB Salzburg’s decision to appoint Rohl reflects their belief in his coaching philosophy and ability to develop teams, while Rangers will now focus on the next stage of their managerial plans.
The German coach leaves with the appreciation of the Rangers hierarchy, who acknowledged the work completed during his tenure despite the changing landscape around the club.
As Rohl begins his new role in Austria, Rangers will turn their attention towards building the next phase of their football project and finding the right leadership to take the team forward.
