English Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are set to battle for the signing of Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham.
Bellingham has become a regular for Sunderland since June 2023 when he signed for the club. He has registered 11 goals and four assists in 68 appearances for the club.
Heavily talented and quite versatile like his older brother Jude Bellingham, Jobe can function in different positions across midfield. The 19-year-old Englishman can operate from defensive midfield, Center midfield and attacking midfield.
His ability on and off the ball has attracted a lot of interest all across Europe. And according to Transfer News Live, Bellingham may end up with one of Premier League top guns as he seeks to exit Sunderland at the end of the season. Arsenal and Manchester United seem to be leading the pack as they need midfield reinforcements.
This interest in Bellingham is not the first, as Borussia Dortmund are also in the running as they want to leverage on his talent as they did with his elder brother Jude.
Bellingham has a contract that runs until 2028, so Sunderland will have the upperhand in any negotiations that will take place. The youngster has an €18 million valuation according to Transfermarkt. But with the potential that Bellingham has shown, and the success that his older brother Jude has recorded, Sunderland could hold out for a mega fee.
If the Black Cats fail to gain promotion to the English Premier League this season, they would likely let Bellingham leave.
