Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been urged to leave Old Trafford because he deserves to play for a better club.
This comes after former Manchester United skipper, Roy Keane weighed in on the Portuguese international, calling Fernandes and his team-mates “imposters“.
Fernandes, 30, has yet to win a league title during his playing career. He has however picked up domestic cups with United and his previous club Sporting CP. He was also a member of Portugal’s 2019 UEFA Nations League winning team, but the closest he has come to a league title was when United finished a distant second in 2020-21.
Fernandez has come in for criticism for his performances this season, with United languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
However, Pundit and former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole thinks Fernandes should leave Man Utd as his exit would “benefit both.” he said. “I think there could be a natural separation for Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United. He’s a brilliant footballer,” Cole said.
“He can more than hold his head up with what he’s achieved in Manchester, but I think he deserves to play in a better team. It’ll be a nice separation point for the club, and it will benefit both.”
Manchester United have suffered a run of poor performance since the start of the season with the team placed 14th on the league table and with a total of 27 points in 33 matches.
