Chelsea face competition in race for €30 million Bakwa

Chelsea are reportedly keen on Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa who is valued at €30 million but faces competition from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 22-year-old has attracted attention due to his impressive performances in Ligue 1. Bakwa joined Strasbourg from Bordeaux in and has since become a key player on the right wing. This season, he has played over 97% of available minutes, contributing two goals and five assists. Chelsea’s interest is facilitated by their ownership group’s connection to Strasbourg, potentially easing negotiations.

However, Eintracht Frankfurt has also identified Bakwa as a priority target and has initiated discussions with his representatives. Strasbourg values Bakwa at €30 million, excluding bonuses. His contract runs until 2027, providing the club with a strong negotiating position.

The 22-year old is renowned for his agility, dribbling skills, and ability to create scoring opportunities in the final third, making him a valuable asset for potential suitors. As the transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea’s affiliation with Strasbourg will give them an advantage over Eintracht Frankfurt in securing Bakwa’s signature.

Aside from transfer speculation, Bakwa could feature for Strasbourg, who sit fourth in Ligue 1, at home to Nice on Saturday in the league.
