Al Wehda striker Odion Ighalo has advised ex-teammate and Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen, to secure a move to the English Premier League this summer.
The Super Eagles number nine has been in scintillating form since joining Turkish side Galatasaray last summer on a season long loan deal from Napoli, scoring 29 goals and providing six assists in all competitions this season.
The 26-year old was hugely linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last August and his stellar form has revived recent transfer speculations, with top European sides jostling for his signature.
Speaking in an interview, former Manchester United striker Ighalo praised his countryman while stating that he should consider making a move to the English top-flight.
“My advice would be for him to try the Premier League, but ultimately, he knows what’s best for himself,” he stated.
“People can say all they want, but only the player knows what’s truly in his heart and mind.”
Ighalo previously played in England, first for Watford between 2014 and 2017 before returning for a second stint in the Premier League for Manchester United, joining on loan in January 2020 before leaving a year later.
Osimhen is widely rumored to be keen on a move to the EPL, with the Red Devils and Arsenal front runners for his signature.
“Whatever decision he makes, he has my full support—101%,” Ighalo added.
The 26-year old is expected to leave Galatasaray when his loan expires in the summer, although the next chapter in his career is relatively unknown.
