Antonio Rudiger has confirmed he underwent a successful meniscus surgery after playing for seven months with severe pain.
The Genesis…
Sharing the update using his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the seasoned center-back guaranteed supporters a good recovery.
“After I have played more than seven month with severe pain, it was unfortunately unavoidable that I had to undergo a meniscus surgery. Now I’m finally pain-free again, and the surgery was a success,” the Madrid defender tweeted.
Particularly with two important events approaching on the soccer schedule, the announcement provides hope to followers of both club and nation.
Focused on timely return
The German international is determined to get back on the field right away in view of the UEFA Nations League and the FIFA Club World Cup around the corner. He did, however, underline that recovery ought to be handled carefully and gently.
“Thanks to the medical team. I want to be able to play again as soon as possible as two big tournaments with the Nations League and the Club World Cup are in front of me, but I have to look from week to week now and we will see.
“I will do everything I can to make it happen. See you soon and take care of yourselves.”
Even as he takes a rehab week to week approach, this statement shows the 32-year-old’s dedication to playing both the Spanish side and the German national team at the uppermost level.
A lack in Real Madrid’s back line?
Los Blancos will certainly miss the centre back if one of La Liga’s most consistent defenders this season is away. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have enjoyed a great season in both Europe and internationally mainly owing to his defensive solidity, experience, and leadership.
Still, fans hope his rehabilitation keeps on coursing well and he returns in top shape just before the important summer games.
