Liverpool manager Arne Slot strongly urged not to draw comparisons between young full-back Conor Bradley and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Although the 20-year-old has shown promise, Slot thinks it is unreasonable to compare the two players at this point.
“Let’s not compare him with Trent now already. They are two different types in my opinion,” the gaffer remarked.
His remarks highlight his dedication to fostering the youngster’s skills free from excessive stress.
An unexpected story at Stamford Bridge
The Dutch manager also had an unanticipated encounter with the Northern Irish footballer during Liverpool’s trip to the West London outfit, thereby underlined the young man’s inexperience.
“With Conor, we all see the potential but last week I walked on to the pitch together with him and I looked around because, for me, it was the first time (at Stamford Bridge). And I was very surprised that he made a comment about the stadium as well because it was the first time he was there as well.”

The coach suggested that the young defender still has a lot of learning ahead.
Will the defender stay fit to compete?
The 21-year-old has great promise, but injuries all during the season have slowed his development. The manager stressed how crucial regular fitness is for the young defender’s growth.

“That was a bit of a surprise to me, because I thought he was further in his development than being at an away game like Chelsea for the first time. Very talented player Conor, unfortunately hasn’t been fit through the season.”
Slot clearly believes Bradley can play, but he also notes that the young man has to stay sharp to make an influence.
What next for the Anfield defender?
The Merseyside boss has confirmed that Bradley will be given a starting chance as the Anfield powerhouses get ready to face Arsenal. The coach thinks this is a vital opportunity for the young full-back to get some match experience.
He added: “If Conor was available he would have started against Chelsea, so there’s a first chance he might start.
“Conor will start (against Arsenal), he needs playing time, games under his belt to be prepared for next season. Unfortunately he hasn’t been fit all season but to become a good player you have to be fit all season but we have a lot of confidence in him as a very good full-back for Liverpool.”

Despite the fact that the player is still negotiating the hurdles of his early career, the boss’s remarks show the club’s faith in the full-back’s promise.
