EPL: Man United and Arsenal face-off in blockbuster opening weekend

Manchester United will begin their first full season under Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim with a daunting matchday one fixture against runners-up from the last three campaigns, Arsenal.

The Premier League revealed the fixtures for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday morning, with the season set to consist of 380 action-packed matches.

Champions Liverpool kickstart their title defence in the league’s opening match against Bournemouth at Anfield on August 15.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will hope to bounce back from a hugely disappointing 2024-25 campaign, starting their league season with a trip to the Molineux to face Wolves.

Conference League winners Chelsea face FA Cup winners Crystal Palace in a London derby while Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur begin their campaign under new manager Thomas Frank against newly-promoted Burnley.

Manchester United and Arsenal both have the toughest start to the campaign, with the Red Devils facing the Gunners, Manchester City and Chelsea in their first five matches.

Arsenal, on the other hand, face Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Manchester City among their first six games of the season.

The first Manchester derby of the season will hold on the 13th of September at the Etihad, with the reverse taking place at Old Trafford on the weekend of January 17.

Manchester City face Arsenal on the weekend of September 20 at the Emirates where they lost 5-1 last season, while they host Liverpool on the 8th of November.

When is the Premier League starting?

The 2025-26 season will commence on the 15th of August, with the clash between champions Liverpool and Bournemouth.

The season will feature 380 matches spanning across 33 weekends, with the final matchweek concluding on the 24th of May.
