Roony Bardghji has outlined his desire to help Barcelona achieve even more success than they enjoyed last season after joining the Blaugrana from Club Brugge this summer.
Bardghji is clearly one that Barcelona have signed with the future in mind and the youngster will get the chance to convince Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick of his first team credentials during the pre-season tour of Asia.
Speaking during his first interview as a Barcelona player, Bardghji could barely hide his delight at becoming one of the select Swedes to play for the Catalans. He also told fans what to expect from him at the club.
“It’s huge to be here. I think only two or three Swedish players had played for Barca before me. It’s a huge deal. For me and for the Swedes, it’s very important,” he told the club’s media, per Barca Blaugranes.
“I’m a player who likes to have the ball and ask for it. I’m a player who makes my teammates better; I like to use my teammates.
“The team’s last season was spectacular. Hopefully we can do it again this season and reach the end in all competitions, that’s the goal.
“And individually my goal is to be able to enter the team little by little, have minutes and show who I am. I hope I can contribute with goals and assists. To give the maximum of myself so that the club reaches its objectives.”
Whether Bardghji will immediately break into Barcelona’s first team setup, go out on loan or spend some time at Barcelona Athletic remains uncertain for now. One certain fact however, is that the Catalans have a huge talent on their hands.
