Manchester United could offload €42.5 million Ten Hag signing in January

Former English Premier champions Manchester United are considering the sale of Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as coach.

Zirkzee turned a lot of heads in Europe last season after an impressive campaign with Bologna that saw him register 14 goals and nine assists in 58 appearances. And eventually, he joined Manchester United under the tutelage of fellow Dutchman Erik Ten Hag.

Unfortunately, the move has not gone well for all the parties involved. Zirkzee scored on his debut for the Red Devils, but that is all he has mustered along with two assists in 17 appearances.

Ten Hag, who brought Zirkzee to the club, has been sacked following a poor run of results. And Amorim, the new coach would be looking to bring in players who fit into his playing style and ideology.

Now, according to Transfer News Live, Manchester United are willing to offload the Netherlands international in January or next summer, as some Italian Serie A clubs are seriously interested in acquiring his services.

However, it is unknown if he will leave in the January winter transfer window or he will be given an opportunity to prove himself until next summer.

Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford is expected to cause a lot of chances at Manchester United. Former interim coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy has already left his position.

The Portuguese tactician operates a 3-4-3 formation, one that Manchester United have not used since Luis Van Gaal. Even Hojlund is at risk of losing his position at the club if he does not start racking up the goals.n
