England forward Raheem Sterling does not want to return to Chelsea or move to another club despite his lack of game time at Arsenal.
The last two years have been torrid for Sterling. The English star who used to be one of the best wingers in the world has dropped form significantly.
When he joined Chelsea in 2022, he was expected to lift the club’s performances based on his antecedents at Manchester City. But he failed to do so and was booted out by coach Enzo Maresca who took charge of the club last summer.
The 30-year-old attacker then moved to Arsenal during the summer to get more game time. But unfortunately for him, he has failed to prove his worth. Sterling has sat out most of the Gunners’ games. In fact, he has only ten appearances this season, most of which have been from the bench.
But despite his lack of game time, it appears that Sterling is unwilling to leave the Emirates. According to Transfer News Live, the 30-year-old England international wants to stay at Arsenal in January.
Except something extraordinary happens to Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, Sterling may not get a lot of minutes at Arsenal.
His lack of game time also puts him at a disadvantage for a Three Lions call-up. If he does not start getting minute and improves his form, he may just kiss international football goodbye.
