Jack Grealish has refuted blatantly online naysayers doubting his current performance and role at Manchester City.
Having his future uncertain, the England star made headlines after directly replying to social media posts. His reaction came after increasing rumors regarding a possible Etihad summer departure.
What happened?
The circumstances heated up after Sky Sports News said Grealish might not be included in Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad. Also, he was left out of the final day matchday squad in City’s 2-0 victory over Fulham.
His former Aston Villa colleague Gabriel Agbonlahor voiced his disappointment publicly. Although Guardiola termed it a straightforward “selection” choice, he posted a video accusing the gaffer of making the exclusion “personal.”

The Birmingham-born winger joined in on the conversation. Responding to Agbonlahor’s post, he said: “What do you want me to do? Score a hatty [hat-trick] in 20 minutes?”
That was not everything. A fan remarked, “Dude Jack has been bad lately and I’m not surprised Pep did that.
“Haha, I’ve been bad lately? Scored 3 goals in my last 3 appearances over 45 mins but okie dokie love x,” he retorted.
What makes his future uncertain?
The England international, who joined City in 2021 for £100 million, has started just seven league games this season. For someone once considered as a massive signing, that’s a significant drop.
Reports point toward the Cityzens possibly accepting bids this summer if they are appropriate. The 29-year-old forward has drawn Premier League clubs from around.

Though his contract still has two years left, his part on the team appears less clear than it has ever been.
What next for Grealish?
All eyes are on the Englishman as the transfer window nears. Would he seek a new beginning elsewhere or battle for his position under the manager?
One thing is evident—he’s not shying from criticism. His immediate reactions on social media reveal a player still assured of his skills and ready to shut out doubters.
