Chelsea set to offload three stars in January

English Premier League club Chelsea could offload Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, and Cesare Casadei in January, as they are surplus to requirements.

Chelsea have one of the biggest squads in Europe, and this is due to their policy of signing young players from other clubs in Europe. Coach Enzo Maresca has the luxury of a fat squad, as he has enough quality to field totally different starting elevens and still have the quality to win games.

However, some players have been suffering due to the quantity available. England defender Chilwell has been completely taken off the squad as he has played just once all season.

Since last summer, it has been clear that the Englishman will leave Chelsea, and he may just leave in January.

According to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea may experience a mini exodus in the coming weeks. Chilwell is expected to lead the charge, while Casadei could follow suit. Chukwuemeka, who has also been used sparingly this season is expected to leave.

With the World Cup coming up in the next two years, more players could leave Chelsea to get more game time and earn themselves regular shirts in their national teams.

The Blues currently sit second in the Premier League, two points behind Liverpool who have a game in hand. They have not lost a game since the end of October, and they will be looking to continue with their decent run until the end of the campaign.
