Serie A star emerges as surprise target for Galatasaray as strike partner for Osimhen

Argentine World cup winning forward, Paulo Dybala has emerged as a potential transfer target for Turkish giants Galatasaray in the January transfer window.

The former Palermo and Juventus attacker who is currently on the ranks of Claudio Ranieri’s AS Roma, could be open to a move to the Turkish Champions who are looking to bolster their attack after a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury to Mauro Icardi.

When recently asked if signing the 31-year old was a top priority, Galatasaray head coach Omar Buruk was quoted saying, “We must do it secretly. He’s a precious player, and every coach wants him, including me.”

Dybala who joined the former UEFA Conference League winners from Juventus in 2022, is under contract until the summer of 2025 and requires at least 45 minutes in six more appearances this season, to be able to trigger an extension until 2026.

The five-time Italian Serie A winner has four goals and two assists in 19 appearances this season, and produced an outstanding display as he scored twice and set up another in AS Roma’s 5-0 demolition of Parma in their last league outing.

Dybala who has long been regarded as one of the most skilled and dynamic footballers with his trickery and ‘knack for scoring crucial goals’, would form a devastating partnership with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who has grown into one of the most feared strikers in the world, and has scored 12 goals for Galatasaray this season with a further five provided for teammates.
