Joao Felix: Chelsea shun AC Milan’s interest in Portuguese star

English Premier League club Chelsea have reportedly rejected AC Milan’s offer to sign João Felix on a loan deal in the ongoing transfer window.

Felix, 25, who is on his second stint at Chelsea – having previously spent a short-term on loan with the club – has struggled to find consistent playing time under head coach, Enzo Maresca.

The former Atletico Madrid man has made just 19 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring seven goals, including one in the Premier League.

Reports suggest that the Portuguese midfielder is not an important part of Enzo Maresca plans for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Belarusian outlet, Tribuna.com recently claimed the Chelsea manager is not a big fan of Felix, as he trusts Cole Palmer instead.

“In my view, if Joao plays, it means Cole doesn’t play. Or, if Joao plays, he has to play with Cole together, but it depends on the game.”

“For me, it’s quite simple: we have three players who are more or less similar-Cole, Joao, and Christopher Nkunku.

Felix has been utilised on the left on several occasions, but with the Blues linked with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens, and Mathys Tel, Felix could see even less minutes if potential signings arrive.

With AC Milan interested in the player, it is yet to be seen for how long The Blues will remain adamant in discussing a loan deal for Felix.
