“He’s happy”- Enzo Maresca gives verdict on Chelsea’s star despite goal drought

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that England international Cole Palmer will be back to his best despite his recent loss of form.

The former Manchester City star recent struggles has seen him fail to score in his last eight appearances for the Blues, while missing a number of promising chances in those games.

Palmer who scored 27 goals while also providing 15 assists in his first year for the London side last season, has failed to find the back of the net since the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in January.

“When you score a goal you are more happy because your goals help the team to win. But overall Cole is fine. He’s happy,” Maresca said ahead of the meeting with his former side this weekend.

“He knows he’s struggled to score goals in this moment but that it’s something normal that during the season can happen. Watching him during the training session you don’t think it’s affecting him, he’s fantastic.”

The 22-year old has cored 14 times and also provided six assists in the league this season and will hope to end his dry spell when the Blues take on relegation-threatened Leicester City on Sunday.
