Arsenal are yet to win a major title since the FA Cup in 2020 in Arteta’s first season in charge, and are on course for a third consecutive third-place finish in the league.

What Arteta said

“We’re very clear about what we need to do to improve. First, what is in our hands to improve and what we can do with the squad we have, and then the improvements the team will need in terms of methodology, in terms of coaching staff, in terms of departments, in terms of players and, once again, to be better.”

The Gunners suffered injuries to key players in the course of the season and the Spaniard has identified the need for summer reinforcements.

“We’ll see at the end [of the season], it will depend on what happens with a lot of the players”, he added.

Can Arsenal finally win a major trophy?

Mikel Arteta’s impact on the Gunners team has been evident in their improved performances. However, the team must ensure to win a silverware to avoid being recognized as a ‘nearly team’.

With the club in the hunt for a recognized number nine, the Spaniard has described the coming transfer window as a huge one, with the club desperate to make the needed signings.

It remains to be seen if Arteta can find the missing piece to his puzzle and secure a first title since 2020.
