Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has hit out at the players lack of attitude after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Brennan Johnson’s first-half goal was enough as Spurs ended a 17-year wait for a major trophy at the expense of the Red Devils.
What Shaw said
“A lot has to change, it’s clear to see. That’s why I say Ruben is 100 per cent the right person. He knows what is to be done at this club, I believe he will do everything to make that change and put Manchester back at the top.
I think the fans? I understand that right now they are going to be annoyed. And rightly so. But all I can say is thank you so much for the support”, Shaw stated after the final defeat.

“Everywhere we go, including where we are in the table, the results we’ve had this year, they’ve always still been there.”
The England left-back also praised the fans for their support, while emphasizing the need for a better performance from the club’s players.
“I can only say firstly thank you so much for your support, and secondly we’re very sorry for what they’ve had to go through this season. It’s been nowhere near good enough and I can only apologise for that”, he continued.
“We have to look at the positives and the only positive is we can only go up from here. We’re at rock bottom now, we have to find a way drive ourselves back and get back to where this club deserves to be.”

The Red Devils are 16th in the English Premier League and have only taken 39 points from 37 matches.
They are on course for a lowest-ever league finish in the Premier League era, with manager Ruben Amorim yet to make an impact since joining in November.
What next?
Man United host Aston Villa in their final match of the season on Sunday while Spurs head to League Cup winners Newcastle United.
With no European duties next season, Amorim is expected to focus on improving the squad after a disappointing campaign, although there are question marks around his future at the club.
The Red Devils head into a huge summer with uncertainty around the whole squad.
