Barcelona president Joan Laporta has verified the club is seriously pursuing yet another huge signing just hours after revealing the arrival of Espanyol goalie Joan Garcia.
Early in the summer window, the Catalan giants are making moves; forward Nico Williams is claimed to be at the top of their list.
What Laporta said
Speaking during a meeting with club members on Wednesday, Laporta provided a small but important update.

“We have brought in one player [Garcia] and we’re working on another really exciting signing.”
The Spanish businessman’s remarks come amid rising rumors linking Barca with Williams.
What’s Barca next huge goal
Multiple reports indicate that Deco, Blaugrana’s sporting director, met with the Spaniard’s agent, Felix Tainta, last week. Rumors have been started by the meeting that the 22-year-old is now the club’s top concern.

Exactly what the Spanish heavyweights need in attack, the forward from Athletic Club is famed for his quickness, flair, and inventiveness.
His current release clause is €58 million ($66.7 million), and he is still accessible if Hansi Flick’s team triggers the buyout.
Why Williams’ signing failed last summer
Flick’s side could not finalise a deal for the Spain international last summer due to financial constraints and La Liga registration policies.
Despite a lot of interest, the club could not guarantee that he would be registered to play—thereby halting any trade before it gathered steam.
The 62-year-old politician, though, seems certain this time around. And as Garca already inked, momentum seems to be leaning towards Barca’s side.
