Ruben Amorim relishing Old Trafford debut as Manchester United host Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has stated that Thursday’s Europa League match against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt is a ‘special’ moment for him and his staffs.

Ruben Amorim who resumed duty as the Red Devils boss on November 11, taking over from Dutch manager Erik Ten Hav, was in charge of his first game in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Sunday.

He is preparing to make his bow in front of the ‘Old Trafford ‘faithfuls’ on Thursday and has expressed his desire to win.

“It will be special, but it will be more special if we win. So that’s the goal, but it’s a special moment in my life, in our staff’s life, and I hope it will be the beginning of something very beautiful.”

Manchester United are currently 15th on the Europa League standings with a win and three draws from their first four games and the former Sporting Lisbon manager will hope to continue their revival as they seek a spot in the next round.

“I just want to win the game to give that happiness to the supporters. Before the match, it will be a new sensation but after the whistle it will be one more game and we want to win that match”, Amorim added.

Manchester United were victorious the last time out as they claimed a 2-0 home win over Greek side PAOK to secure a first win in Europe in over a year.

“I’m expecting a very intense game, a very good game and I hope to see different things. Improve some things we didn’t do so well in the last game, so it will be a good game”, he continued.

Amorim will hope the return of key players drive his team to secure a win as they look to boost their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages.
