Arsenal teenage sensation Ethan Nwaneri has committed his future to the club after signing a new long-term deal on Friday.
Nwaneri, 18, extends his stay at the Gunners until 2030 after agreeing a new five-year deal, ending speculation of a potential exit with his previous contract set to expire in June 2026.
The youngster made history in 2022, becoming the youngest player to appear in an English Premier League match when he came on as a substitute for Arsenal against Brentford aged 15 years and 181 days.
The England U21 international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, playing a pivotal role for Mikel Arteta’s side in the absence of Bukayo Saka.
Nwaneri scored nine times in 37 appearances for the Gunners, starting 16 times. He also joined Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney as the third player to score three Premier League goals before turning 18.
“It means everything to me, I’m so happy to have got it done. This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best”, Nwaneri revealed.
“I’m very excited. I see this as my first real season and part of a proper squad in the changing room. I’m so excited for what I can bring to the team and how I can help the team.
I think I’ve actually become more direct over the past few years and I’ve added more goals, so I’m excited for what will come next”, he added.
The attacking midfielder also contributed to England’s success at the U21 European Championships in June, capping off an excellent season.
