Leandro Trossard has played down talk of a possible Arsenal departure, insisting speculation around his future during the summer was blown out of proportion.
Arsenal bolstered their attack heavily with Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze all arriving, adding to a group already featuring Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri, and injured duo Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
With so much competition, reports suggested Trossard could be forced out, even after signing a new contract in August.
The Belgian, however, has re-established himself since recovering from a pre-season injury. He has made eight appearances across all competitions and started Arsenal’s last three Premier League games, showing his importance under Mikel Arteta.
“There are always rumours like that,” Trossard retorted. “Leaving has never really been an option. I feel very good at Arsenal. At the beginning of the season, I struggled a bit with an injury. I think those rumours arose because of the lack of minutes.
“I’ve had some good weeks, both individually and with Arsenal. I’m finally a fit footballer again, a player in top form. I’m very happy about that. I’ve played a lot in recent weeks, I’ve done my thing, and I feel good about that.”
Arteta will soon face the challenge of balancing his attacking options as injured players prepare to return. Madueke and Havertz are expected back in November, while Jesus could return in early 2026 following a serious knee injury.
The Brazilian may even face an uncertain future once fit, but for now, Trossard has made it clear he remains committed and confident in his role at Arsenal.
