Atalanta have unveiled Raffaele Palladino as their new head coach, entrusting him with the job of revitalising the club’s season as they battle below expectations.
The Italian boss has penned a deal that runs until June 2027, replacing the sacked Ivan Juric.
Palladino inherits a side that currently lie in 13th place after 11 matches: their worst start since 2020. With just two wins so far, Atalanta trail league leaders by 11 points.
“I am excited to join Atalanta. The club’s ambition matches my desire to build and evolve. Together we will restore the energy of this squad and bring success back to Bergamo,” Palladino said in his first official statement.
The decision comes just one day after Juric’s dismissal following a 3-0 home defeat to Sassuolo. Atalanta have moved swiftly to halt the slide and look to regain their upward trajectory.
The 41-year-old has already cut his teeth in Serie A with stints at Fiorentina and Monza, guiding Fiorentina to a sixth-place finish last season before parting ways.
His track record of developing young talent and playing proactive football made him a stand-out candidate.
The Italian tactician’s debut as Atalanta boss is scheduled for November 22 against fourth-placed Napoli: a tough fixture, but one that reflects the challenge and opportunity ahead. For the fans in blue and black, the arrival of the gaffer signals a fresh chapter.
