Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank is relishing the prospect of his first North London derby in charge of the Lilly Whites, and is expecting a chaotic meeting with city rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
Spurs make the short trip to Emirates Stadium this weekend to an Arsenal side who are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table and currently enjoying a four-point cushion.
They head into the clash boasting the best away record in the Premier League this season, remaining unbeaten after five games with four wins and one draw.
While Frank, whose team are four places below the Gunners, admitted Spurs are a long way off Mikel Arteta’s side, he believes that they can cause problems for their title-chasing neighbours.
“The interesting thing is that probably both Mikel and I would like a little bit more of a controlled game, but it will probably end up absolutely madhouse,” Frank said.
“I expect a difficult [match], but a game that can go anywhere.
“Arsenal are at the top of the table, by quite a distance. They’ve been good for a few years, but we need to do everything we can to turn that around.”
The reigning Europa League champions are currently eight points behind Arsenal in what has been a stuttering start to life under the former Brentford boss but they will be taking some confidence from their strong away record ahead of the encounter.
Frank will also be eyeing his first victory over the Gunners since winning his first-ever Premier League game in charge against them back in August 2021.
