Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has insisted he is fully focused on his role at Selhurst Park, playing down speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Glasner, 51, joined the Eagles in February 2024 and guided them to success in the FA Cup last season and in the Community Shield earlier this season.
However, his contract expires at the end of the season and he is yet to agree to an extension at the club, casting doubts over his future at the club.
The Austrian has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United, with speculation intensifying following Ruben Amorim’s departure earlier this week.
While speaking ahead of Crystal Palace home game against Aston Villa on Wednesday, the 51-year-old shut down rumours and maintained focus on the task at hand.
“In my [Palace] contract, [is] one paragraph, I tell you, [that] I am not allowed to bet, and I don’t look at it [the odds]”, Glasner stated.
“I cannot also give insider information, because then I am also breaking my contract.
“I am Crystal Palace manager and I just think it makes no sense, and is also wasted time for you to ask me any more questions, so I don’t talk about any other club than Crystal Palace.”
Crystal Palace also secured qualification for European football and have qualified for the first knockout rounds of the UEFA Conference League.
The Eagles are currently 14th on the league standings after a poor run of form, but are just four points behind fifth-placed Chelsea.
“You can sign a new contract, like managers did in the Premier League this year, and [now] they aren’t the manager there any more. Even if I sign a new contract, you could ask me every day, ‘What is the future?’
“There is one situation which keeps you in your job when you are a manager — and this is being successful. It is the only thing to survive [in] this job”, he added.
Crystal Palace welcome Aston Villa to the Selhurst Park later tonight, hoping to end their winless streak in all competitions.
